About me
I’m Laura — lifestyle blogger, midlife coach, and a woman who has earned every single one of her wrinkles.
My Mission
I have 48 years of Life experiences
If you’re looking for a perfectly curated, everything-is-wonderful corner of the internet, this probably isn’t it. But if you want real — messy, funny, sometimes hard, genuinely joyful real — then you’re in exactly the right place.
I’m Laura, and I live in Johannesburg with my partner David and our kids Emma, Kiara, and Cameron. Life here is full and loud and complicated in the best and hardest ways, and that’s mostly what I write about.
Wisdoms & Wrinkles started because I kept noticing a gap between the midlife content I was finding online and the actual experience of being a woman over 40. The wellness world loves to make it all sound aspirational and tidy. My experience has been anything but. There have been weeks I’ve renamed entire months — Anxiety August is a real thing in our house. There have been puddles that blocked the entire path that you just have to wade through, one careful step at a time, holding onto the people next to you.
So that’s what this space is. A place to talk honestly about perimenopause and what it actually feels like. About grief and glimmers — those tiny micro-moments of joy that save you during the heavy weeks. About walking trails that kick your backside and the conversations that happen afterwards. About junk journals and good pestos and the small, ordinary things that quietly hold your life together.
I’m also a midlife coach, which means I get to do this work in a more personal way too — supporting women through the transitions, the symptoms, and the identity shifts that come with this season of life. It’s work I genuinely love, because it turns out the women who find their way here are my kind of people.
I don’t have it all figured out. I’m still learning how to sit with grief, how to show up on the hard days, how to find the glimmers when everything feels heavy. But I’m doing it — wrinkles, wisdom, and all — and I’d love for you to do it with me.
About Wisdoms and Wrinkles
Just real life, shared honestly.
Wisdoms & Wrinkles is where I share the honest, unfiltered reality of life after 40 — the hard weeks and the glimmers of joy, the perimenopause chaos and the hard-won wisdom that comes with navigating it. No wellness fluff. No pretending it’s all figured out.
48 Years of Wisdoms
Making me a Xennial who wore jelly shoes, listened to cassettes and had dial up internet.
Countless Widsoms
Life in the 80’s, 2 marriages, 4 kids and working for myself has given me many wisdoms.
1 Amazing Family
I still really like my gorgeous husband of 16 years. And my kids are all pretty awesome.
My Wisdoms
No filters, no fluff — just real stories from the messy, beautiful middle of life.
