Cricut Project: Easter Wreath
We don’t decorate for Easter. I have tried a few times over the years but it has never stuck. We do celebrate Easter – in the heathen way – eating lots of chocolate while enjoying the 4 day weekend. We have, however, started changing up our door decor. What better excuse to buy more Cricut supplies than for an Easter wreath.
This may be one of my favourite projects so far.
I used this ready made project that was used as tree decorations. Everything is done for you, the size of the eggs was perfect for what I wanted to do but you can make them bigger or smaller – if you do this remember to make all of the ones you want to print the same size otherwise they won’t line up nicely.
I used Cricut cardstock for this project but you could use any cardstock you have at home, it has to be good quality cardstock though, you need the eggs to be firm. The designs are also pretty intricate, thin paper will tear when being cut.
You will end up with a pile of plain eggs, they will be the backing pieces and then piles of different colour designed eggs.
If you are using the cardstock on your mat, cut out the paper before you start cutting to make it easier to switch out the colours. Don’t worry about changing the colours in Design Space, you can just feed in the colour paper you have.

Stick each design piece to the backing piece. I ended up with more design pieces than backings but it worked out fine for my project. If you need a certain amount, you might need to print two backing sheets.

I printed out a circle from cardstock to use as the backing support and then arranged the eggs onto it.

And voila – ready to hang!
This is such a versatile project – you can turn it into bunting, use the eggs as labels or hang on a tree as in the initial project. It is a good project to use up all those scrap pieces of cardstock we all have in our craft boxes (or is that just me).
If you are new to using your Cricut, I have shared a few other projects here.
This Easter wreath is so cute! I love how you used Cricut cardstock and those fun designs. Great idea to use up scrap paper too.
Cute! My daughter uses one of these, and makes some great projects.
