Deciding what to eat for dinner is always a struggle for me, even on a good day. But on crazy days, it causes such anxiety. It’s made worse by the fact that David is keto, Emma is dairy free, I am gluten free, and Jack is 14 and works out 5 days a week. So trying to find a meal that ticks all those boxes and is still delicious is challenging.
This term, Jack and Emma have both added an additional activity to the schedule, which means our days out are longer and more frequent. Some day, we get home well after 5h00, and I definitely don’t want to be starting to cook then when we are all starving and tired.

We were recently contacted by @chefsbox.co.za to try out their frozen, ready made meals and I was so excited to try it out.
They sent us a variety of their frozen meals including dishes like moussaka, cottage pie, chickpea curry, chicken schnitzel, soups and gelatos. While I may not have ordered all of the specific meals they were all so good and we got to try a range of different meals. Everything was really good. They have a low-carb box, so David was also able to try out a few of the dishes. There was a fair amount of pasta and cheesy dishes but Jack enjoyed them all.

Cost wise we can’t afford to eat these meals daily but I am getting them for the 2 days we are home late because the time and mental energy I will save are worth it.
It is also a nice gift idea for a new mom or someone dealing with a stressful time!
Have you ever tried frozen meal services before?
