May is when our year shifts into 3rd gear and starts getting busy busy. David’s events start, Emma has her major karate events and the seasons start to really change. This year was no different.
Back to the Share 4 Somethings: The idea is to share something we loved, something that sustained us, something we’re carrying forward from this month to the next, and something we’re making space for each month.
Something I loved in May….there was so much to love about May. It was our anniversary, we went away for the weekend, Emma got her South African colours, we booked a trip to Mauritius, I finished my very first walking challenge – 120km in 6 weeks.
AND the biggest news was we can FINALLY after 17 years start our kitchen and bathroom remodel! I can not wait to get start when we get back after our holiday at the beginning of June.

David and I went on a new hike. It was just 5km, but it was a tough one and took us almost 2 hours. It felt like rock climbing more than hiking but I am so glad we did it.

Something that sustained me…can I say medication. I had a big mental health dip mid May and needed a little help to get through it. That and coffee and my husband.
Something I am carrying forward...the positivity of May. So many things came together in May – Emma is going back to school, things at work, an idea we are working on. I am feeling fitter and able to walk longer distances now more often. I definitely want to carry this positive momentum forward.

Something I am making space for…acceptance. I have realised that there are still a few things I am struggling to accept. I haven’t acknowledged this before, so half the battle is won right? I hope so, I need to let go of a few heavy things I have been carrying around but I first need to accept them.
How was your April?
