Every time we visit Cape Town we spend a day in Kalk Bay. We all love it. There are so many little shops and restaurants hidden all over than you always find somewhere new to explore. So I decided to book 2 nights on the Main Road.
We stayed in such a lovely spot right, Millwood at Dalebrook, on the Main Road but at the start of Kalk Bay, the road was busy but not negatively so.
The kids and I spend a full day walking around while David attended a work function. It was so much fun. We walked all the way to one end and then back again. We stopped for breakfast, found some fresh sourdough bread, discovered a chocolate shop and spotted some seals sunbathing.
We had grand plans to walk but Cape Town in winter stays dark until 7h45 and by then we were too lazy to start walking. But also, to be fair to us, the weather on the days we wanted to walk was not great and all the hikes go up into the mountains so going when it is misty is not ideal.
We also all picked a colour for the day – the idea was that we take photos of things that colour. The boys let team Le Roux down but the girls did not disappoint.
Kiara had pink. Emma did orange and I had yellow.
It was a fun little challenge to do.
Kalk Bay isn’t the most central spot to stay if you want to explore Cape Town but I loved it and could see myself living there!
