This past week was not great. I was a little deep in my sadness, combined with PMS hormones and it was just a bit of a melting pot of mess and emotions. But despite that we did have a lot of wins and positive moments. A proper ying and yang week.
Glimmers
(Glimmers are micro-moments of joy that make us feel happy, hopeful, and safe.)
- We walked a new trail on Sunday, it was a very pretty walk and a lot easier than I thought.
- After our walk we went to a coffee shop I have never been to and had delicious coffee and breakfast. I love finding new coffee spots.
- Jack and I made it back to our favourite coffee spot. I worked, he did maths and we enjoyed the good coffee.
- I did a solo walk again, I am actually really enjoying walking alone, there is a point in the walk where I switch off for a bit – it is very therapeutic.
- We had a morning of rain on Thursday, it was so lovely – cold but lovely. It also create a glorious rainbow.
- I also had therapy this week, which is always good for me. A little vent and emotional reset.
My Weekly Wisdom..
Why do things happen in 3’s? Do they actually happen in 3’s or is 3 or we can handle at one time so we group them like that?
On Thursday we woke up to beautiful rain. It is a little uncommon for it to rain here now but there is so much dust everywhere we were grateful. It did also make it a whole lot colder. Thursdays are our busiest day of the week – Emma has school, Jack goes to rock climbing, then Emma has 2 different hockey practices.
David had an appointment on our way to rock climbing so we dropped him off, I wasn’t 5 minutes from dropping him off when a light came on in the car telling me something was wrong with the tyre. Fortunately rock climbing was close, so we made there safely but turns out there was a big gash along the side of the one tyre.
Then we get home and have very limited time to make Emma food between school and hockey. Air fryer decides it is going into retirement. We all shed a small tear! We used it every single day.
I also had a about 30 minutes to quickly check emails etc. BAM, internet line is down! I call the service provider and am 21 in the queue. Took me about 2 hours to speak to someone.
But at least that was the 3rd thing for the day/week/month, so the rest of the week ran smoothly!
Hopefully you had a better Thursday than we did.
Picture of the Week
I have decided to change this section up and add in my favourite photo of the week. This was taken on our walk to Groenkloof – it is pretty much in the middle of the city but so calm and beautiful.

Wise Words of the Week

Words of the Week
I am joining up with the Word of the Week link party this week so my word for the week would have to be PROGRESS. During our walk on Sunday we all decided to walk the shorter walk but at the end of it we regretted not taking the longer route, we are all getting fitter. I am walking a longer route as well during the week and I am loving it, it pushes me but I am so much stronger than I was a few months ago.
Until next week!

It sounds like walking is doing you the world of good, switching off is what you need sometimes and where better to do that than in nature.
I often wonder why things come in 3s because they definitely do. It’s one of those mysteries of life.
Sorry you didn’t have a great week but the positive moments are great! How good to find a new coffee spot and the walks sound fantastic.
I love that Mother Cuppa mug. hehehe
What a busy day Thursday was and I am glad everything going wrong didn’t disrupt your day too much.
Sorry that you’ve had an emotional week but glad there have been positive moments and glimmers in amongst the sadness. The walk on the new trail sounds lovely and always good to find a decent coffee shop. Lovely photo of the rainbow. It’s funny how things seem to happen in threes. Hope that this week has been a better one. #WotW
I can resonate with that comment a lot. I really wish I could walk a long trail, I used to love walking so much. But I can’t complain, at least I always have somewhere to sit down! I like that you found a new coffee shop but sorry about the tyre.
I used to love my visits to Groenkloof. I need to visit soon, it’s been almost 6 years now. I hope your bad luck of 3’s has come to an end, no idea why things happen in three’s though. #wotw
