Weekly Wisdoms #41

I only realised after I posted last week that I have been doing these weekly updates for 10 months now. I am not the most consistent of people – I get an idea, execute and then lose interest (I am realising more and more that I too, may have a little ADHD) but I have stayed consistent with these weekly wisdoms which I am super proud of.

(Glimmers are micro-moments of joy that make us feel happy, hopeful, and safe.)

  • We had such a great walk last Sunday. It was tough but I loved it.
  • Jack has been asking for a new xBox for months. We got it for him this week and he was so happy, his old one is 7 years old. Honestly the fact that we could afford this is such a huge achievement for David and I.
  • I walked with Kobe on Tuesday. He was not vibing with the walk, not 100% sure why but we still had a fun little walk together.
  • Emma’s tutor is busy doing tests now and she is doing so well. I am very proud of her. She went from a very loose school routine to school 8-2, 4 days a week literally overnight and she just got on with it.
  • I found some stunning Woolies shorts on Yaga for R60, they arrived and are basically brand new! I also found some really great O’Neill swimming shorts for David for R80! I love finding a good bargain.
  • I had such a great coffee date with Eve. We meet every week but some weeks they chats are just a little better.
  • I figured out how to create these calendars on my Cricut – how freaking stunning is it!

I have decided to change this section up and add in my favourite photo of the week. This pic popped up in my memories – how sweet was toddler Jack.

I am joining up with the Word of the Week link party this week so my word for the week would have to be PROGRESS. There has been a lot of progress in our lives and often we don’t take a moment to notice it. Emma is making such great progress at school, David and I were able to buy Jack an xBox because we have made such progress in our finances, I loved our walk on Sunday because I am making progress in my fitness. Kiara is getting more and more freedom at work to work independently – progress!

Word of the Week linky

Until next week!

  1. I love your word. Progress is so positive. I like noticing the progress we make as a household too. I bet Jack is happy with his new xbox and also Emma with her studying. Your calendar is very cute and I’m sure you smile every time it catches your eye. Isn’t it funny how some walks don’t work? It’s almost as if they have something on their mind and want to go home. Well done on your fitness progress. As some one who is working hard on her own, I can appreciate the feeling. Hope you have a good weekend.

  2. Progress is the perfect word for you. I think we should all stop and notice the tiny bits of progress we are making in life. Sometimes it gets lost in the struggles, but it’s always there, no matter how small.
Good luck to Emma with her tutor tests.
Well done on finding some bargains, that’s one of my favourite things to do. It sounds like you’ve made some really good progress financially, that’s a brilliant achievement.
Enjoy your weekend, I hope you can fit another walk in.

  3. We sometimes forget that progress is made in small steps not big ones. Well done to Emma for managing her new school routine, I can imagine Jack loves his xBox!

  4. That’s just how I remember Jack. I bet he’s chuffed to bits with his new x box. Great to hear Emma is flourishing with her new schooling and excellent that Kiara has the flexibility and freedom in work. #wotw #project365

  5. That’s a lovely positive word, progress. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in how complicated our lives are we forget the progress we have made. I think I might use it as some inspiration, so thank you. Thank you also for joining up with my weekly link up, doing a weekly round up can be so cathartic and I love your weekly glimmers. I’m glad Emma is doing well and that photo of little Jack reminds me of my little man, when he was a toddler he had the brightest blonde hair, it’s hard to believe it now.

  6. That calendar is beautiful! It’s so funny how sometimes that progress sneaks up on us and we just don’t see it along the way until we look back at where we used to be.

  7. Congratulations on 10 months of weekly wisdoms! How lovely for Jack to get a new XBox and well done to Emma on doing well with her tutor. Sounds like you had a lovely coffee date with Eve and I love the Cricut calendar. That photo of toddler Jack is adorable. I do love your wise words of the week. Progress is such a lovely word for the week – so glad that things are moving in a good direction for you all. #WotW
