Weekly Wisdoms #74

I do my best to try avoid chaos in our weeks but there are always about 2 – 3 weeks in every year where everyone needs to be somewhere at similar times on the same day. This past week was one of those weeks. It’s like a game of tetris and I had it almost perfectly planned until yesterday when Emma fell at hockey and broke her wrist – thankfully she didn’t need surgery but it was a stressful few hours of ER and scans and what not.

Glimmers

(Glimmers are micro-moments of joy that make us feel happy, hopeful, and safe.

• Emma had her karate grading and is now a full red belt.
• David and I took the dogs on a walk/run – he wanted to take them and do a run while I walk but Kobe was having none if it. The minute he couldn’t see me, he just lay down and refused to move. So we ended up just doing a walk.
• I had to go to Home Affairs to collect our passports. I got a notification mine and Emma’s were ready but not Jacks – I thought there may be an issue with his photo but after a 2hr wait in the queue, turns out it was there and I managed to get all 3. So we are all set for our trip to Mauritius! I know people like to moan about government departments but honestly the process was pretty painless.
• I paid the deposit on my new kitchen. I have been waiting for this for 16 years!
• Jack’s braces came off. He is so happy – the first thing he asked for was some peanut brittle!
• I went back the next day to do a 10km walk and it was so good. It was an easy walk but so gorgeous. (And freezing cold).
• I had a great meeting with Eve for a new business we are working on.
• The hospital Emma and I were at had great coffee.

The frost on our morning walk looked like snow – felt like snow but was also so pretty.
