Once schools go back after the winter holidays, life moves into 4th gear as we head, very quickly, to the end of the year. I felt that shift this week, it was go go go go. Work suddenly got busier, Jack has added chess to his list of extra muruals and is climbing longer at rock climbing, Emma has stuff on the go for school and we have a big holiday coming up. I am not really complaining, I do prefer the busy to the quiet.
Glimmers
(Glimmers are micro-moments of joy that make us feel happy, hopeful, and safe.
- While we waited for the kitchen cabinets to arrive I did a ruthless purge of the kitchen cupboards. It took me all morning and I ended up with a car full of donations but I feel so much better now. Everything we have left is stuff we actually use.
- The cabinets were supposed to arrive at the beginning of August but ended up arriving on Tuesday. I LOVE LOVE them so much. The kitchen isn’t ready for them yet unfortunately and I feel like a kid on Christmas morning waiting to open gifts.
- Our car ended up at the mechanic for 4 days which meant we had no car all weekend which was actually lovely. It was the forced pause I needed to organise my life a little bit.
- Jack and his friend went to watch the Odyssey – he absolutely loved it. It has, apparently, changed his life.

Picture of the Week
I was looking for inspiration for our downstairs toilet and then this image popped up on Pinterest and I KNEW I had found it.

Wise Words of the Week
True.

Until next week!

Yay for a good cabinet purging. I love that feeling of organization that I get when I clean and purge.
