Weekly Wisdoms #81

This was a very quiet week. Both kids and I were down with a nasty flu and David had a shoulder injury that is going to require surgery. So there was lots of MedLemon and slow days.

(Glimmers are micro-moments of joy that make us feel happy, hopeful, and safe.

  • Emma had her first school outing on Saturday – it was a trip to the Wet Nose Animal centre. They collected donations and we spent the morning walking all the dogs. It was such fun – David and I got our steps in and walked 6 different pooches.
  • Our walking group walked one of my favourite trails on Sunday. It is a tough one but so pretty.
  • Jack and his friend went to another movie. This time they watched the new Superman movie – they enjoyed it but definitely preferred Odyssey better. Eve and I had a great coffee chat while they watched the movie.
  • My father in law got a new puppy – a little border collie who is too sweet.
  • I need to be getting more km’s in than I am currently walking to prepare for my hike in October so I forced myself outside and walked our neighbourhood. I don’t enjoy walking on the road – while our suburb is pretty, we don’t have nice walking paths and honestly I hate having to think about where I am walking – BUT I did it.
  • I have been trying to do more weight training and my little 4kg kettlebell was not heavy enough so I upgraded to an 8kg one and managed a whole workout with it.
  • Our coffee machine died. We did plan to buy a new one for the new kitchen but were waiting for it to be done but ended up finding a gorgeous one this week. It was a bit of an indulgence but we absolutely LOVE it!!

  1. Walking is the best exercise so keep it up and enjoy it! My husband and I like to hike our trails but there have been many wildfires in the western US this summer and our air quality has not been good. It has also been unusually hot. Ugh– Not my kind of weather.
I love the pretty waterfall in your post….it is so refreshing to hear running water like that.
