Weekly Wisdoms #83

I have been dreading this week all August. It was the week Cameron died two years ago. It was hard but I took the day off, watched TV with Emma, cried when I needed to and had Indian for dinner. Despite the heartache, there was still a lot to be grateful for.

(Glimmers are micro-moments of joy that make us feel happy, hopeful, and safe.

  • I did a long walk on Saturday and it was so good. It still takes a lot of motivational self-talk to get going but once I am on the flow, I love it.
  • Our downstairs bathroom is done and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I chose a bright pink for the one wall and honestly it makes me ridiculously happy.
  • I made a delicious moussaka. It is one of our favourite meals and I needed lots of comfort food this week and it came out perfectly.
  • We replaced the cupboards in the kids room and it was the push they needed to sort their rooms out. And the new cupboards look so good.
  • Seasons are changing here which means there is jasmine everywhere. It is so lovely.
  • I made some labels for our spices – it came out better than I thought it would.
  • I cleared out the garage. It has become a dumping ground for 17 years and honestly we didnt even know what was in there. So while David was preoccupied with his airshow I cleared it out within an inch of its life. I can’t remember when last we could see the floor. We have some new shelves arriving to make sure we put everything back neatly.
