Weekly Wisdoms #85

What a week! Renovations are wrapping up and are on track to finish today! I think we all reached our limits this week. Our builder made his one and only bad measurement on Thursday which meant I had to go get a part that wasn’t super cheap. I was frustrated, he was frustrated – I tagged David eventually to make the last few decisions- I had reached max decision fatigue! But it is all coming together better than I expected.

(Glimmers are micro-moments of joy that make us feel happy, hopeful, and safe.

  • We went to watch the Springboks vs New Zealand at the FNB stadium on Saturday and it was such an incredible experience.
  • It was the first weekend in months that David was home with us so we spent a lazy Sunday at home, together. It was just what we all needed.
  • We get our fruit and veg delivered fresh every Thursday and we never really know what we are going to get – this week the bananas were all ripe. By Monday all we could do with them was made banana bread and muffins – so that’s what I did.
  • I cleaned out the cupboard in our room and listed a few duvet sets that were too small for our bed. They sold almost immediately. I have managed to buy all the things I need for our Mauritius trip from stuff I have sold during this renovation.
  • I also managed to get my drivers license sorted and have a temp one for now which is such a relief.
  • Jack is doing so well at rock climbing, his coach gave me some wonderful feedback.

  1. Yay for nearly having the renovations completed! Your banana bread and muffins look so good… I mean I wouldn’t eat them since I don’t eat banana bread but each time I make banana bread or muffins I do think they look and smell yummy (then I try them and remember I don’t like that banana flavor).
