Weekly Wisdoms #87

What a whirlwind two weeks. We spent a week in Mauritius and then I went straight into my first multi-day hike. Lots of adventures, lots of memories made and lots to be thankful for.

(Glimmers are micro-moments of joy that make us feel happy, hopeful, and safe.

  • We spent the week in Mauritius! That could actually be the whole post because I am so incredibly grateful we were able to give Emma this opportunity.
  • Emma won a gold and bronze medal in the competition in Mauritius.
  • David and I spent a day exploring Mauritius – the kids opted to stay at the hotel – and we had so much fun walking through the markets.
  • We went out of a boat to find dolphins – I have seen dolphins in aquariums before but it is always so much more magical seeing them in their natural habitat.
  • I went out kayaking a few times at the hotel and it was the absolute best thing. We saw a turtle on one of the trips which was so special.
  • The food at the hotel was so good – they even had a little gluten free section which was a welcome surprise.
  • We found some vanilla pods which Jack was super excited about.
  • I started my 4 day walk and managed to get walk the farthest I have ever walked in one day.
  • The food we have had has been incredibly. The restaurant caters for gluten and dairy free people normally so they had a range of the most delicious food for me. A good meal after a tough day of walking was just what I needed.
  • The accommodation we are staying at is so lovely. We got a huge apartment with our own rooms and bathrooms.
  • The scenery has been spectacular.

  1. That looks and sounds like such a wonderful time was had by all of you. I remember the first time we saw dolphins in the wild. It was so moving.
