Word of the Week – Its Complicated

I have been trying to think of my word of the week this week, I couldn’t come up with one last week either so eventually at 5h00 this morning I decided on “It’s complicated.” I know it’s more than one word but, well, it’s complicated!

I had to go fetch our passports – two out of the three were ready but the only way I could find out what was wrong with the other one was to go into the home affairs office and wait in the queue – it’s a complicated system but still better than it was and as it turned out Jack’s passport was ready – the reason they didn’t let me know? It’s complicated!

I didn’t walk much this week. I was feeling quite down again. I know walking makes me feel better but getting motivated to get dressed, drive to the trail and get started takes a lot of energy and self-talk. Getting started is harder than the actual walk. It’s a complicated relationship, the one between me and my walking.

This week all 4 of us had to be in different places at similar times. We only have one car and while Ubers are possible, my kids hate them (no idea why) so I spent a lot of time working out schedules to make sure we all got to where we need to be. It was complicated. But I was very proud when we got to Friday and I had managed to pull it off.

It was Jack’s birthday yesterday – he had a rock climbing competition in the morning, then wanted to go bowling and then for lunch. Trying to plan it all was complicated and the day ended up exhausting but we had so much fun.

.

I hope you have an UNCOMPLICATED week!

  1. Some weeks do feel more complicated than others don’t they? I know what you mean about getting started with something being harder than the actual activity. Well done for managing to make the schedules work out. Happy belated birthday to Jack, it sounds like he had a great day. Hope this week has been less complicated and that you’re feeling better. #WotW

  2. I’m glad you had a little bit of fun after your complicated week. Phrases are most definitely allowed in Word of the Week 🙂
