Word of the Week – Organise

I know this weeks word and last weeks word were pretty similar but after progress comes organisation – which is my favourite part – getting control.

While I was helping the kids sort out their new cupboards I realised we have basically “moved”. Literally every single room has been unpacked and repacked. It has been more exhausting that I thought but we are at the fun part now – decorating and putting things back where we want them.

We had new cupboards put in the kids rooms and used the opportunity to do a proper clothes purge. She loves to shop, her gran would take them all the time and she has her own money as well so if she sees something she buys it but she often forgets she has sensory issues – so a shirt looks nice and fits but when she has to wear it the fabric isnt right or the cuffs are too tight etc. We ended up with a HUGE pile of stuff she no longer wanted that was pretty much new. I put a lot of it on Yaga (our version of Vinted) and managed to sell a lot of it almost immediately which means I can buy some new things for Mauritius!

We have a small toilet downstairs which we also redid and I decided to have some fun with it and painted it bright pink and I absolutely LOVE how it came it.

Organising the garage was probably the biggest mission for me because I needed to do it – we couldn’t outsource it. I did an initial clear out a while ago but just got stuck in this week and cleared out – I should have taken a before photo but you couldn’t see the walls or the floor. We have some new shelves arriving to organise it even more. I messaged a friend (who knew what it looked like) and said “I think this is my greatest achievement”.

David has his airshow on Saturday and while I wasn’t organising it – a lot of organising happened this week. It was a lot but the show went off beautifully.

I have lists going for what we need for Mauritius and for my walk. It is our first international trip as a family so I am trying to make sure I am as organised as possible. Fortunately all the travel/accommodation arrangements are being handled by a travel agent which does make it easier.

We did take a little break from organising on Wednesday for the 2nd anniversary of Cameron’s death. I still really don’t know what to do on this day. We just watched TV all day, cried, laughed and had Indian for dinner. I
