Sunday Hike – Magalies Hiking Trail

When it was raining on Saturday I decided if it is still overcast or raining on Sunday I was not walking. This is not my favourite trail so I was just looking for a reason but when I woke up it was blue skies and sunshine so off I went. And I am glad I did.

This trail is in a municipal reserve. While the trails are clear and easy to walk, they are not marked at all. Add to that that there are a million forks in the road – so getting lost is very likely which is why it is not my favourite. But fortunately Rene walked it a while ago and managed to figure out one of the routes.

It is a tough walk, you go up the mountain, along the top, down and then up again, then down – which I actually enjoy because there is time to catch your breath before it gets tough again. There are different distances but we walked the 8km route (well we walked 8km but not sure if it is the officially 8km route.)

Definitely enjoyed this walk better this time around.
