This week we walked at Rietvlei Nature Reserve. The reserve has buffalo, rhino and a cheetah so you have to book one of their guided walks, which we did.
Initially the walk was supposed to be 7km but ended up being about 9.5 because our guide wanted us to see animals so we had to go looking.
The walk itself is a fairly easy walk as the reserve is pretty flat but it was so hot (yes even at 8h00 in the morning) and there is absolutely no cover so we walked exposed the whole time which made it a little harder.
Our guide was great and I learnt a few fun new facts not only about the reserve (it supplies 15% of Pretoria’s water) but also about the wildlife in the area.
If you do want to do a walk in the reserve you need to book at the reception, you can’t walk on your own. It is worth it though because you get to see the reserve from a different point of view.

Oh that does sound neat; but I’m pretty sure I’d struggle with the heat!
