My Favourite Local Brands
Let’s Talk Local Loves
Okay folks, grab your shopping bags because I’m about to spill the tea on my absolute favorite local brands that have basically taken over my life (and my bank account). These aren’t your run-of-the-mill big corporate giants – we’re talking small, passionate, local goodness that makes my heart (and stomach) incredibly happy!
First up, Me and B – the dynamic mother-daughter duo who are basically the fairy godmothers of fashion. They’re proving that style knows no size and that “locally made” doesn’t mean “mortgage your house expensive.” Think quality clothes that make you feel like a million bucks. Their models are all sizes too so you can see what the clothes will look like on all sizes and shapes.

Now, for my kitchen obsession: Buttanutt. These nut butter wizards recently did something practically unheard of – they actually LOWERED their prices of their nut milks! I know, right? They switched up their packaging and passed the savings onto us. My pantry is basically a Buttanutt shrine at this point, and I regret nothing.

Speaking of food that makes me unreasonably happy – Mooberry Farms, oh my dairy goodness! Their yoghurt is so good it should probably be illegal. We’re talking 100% hormone and antibiotic-free dairy that tastes like it came from happy cows who spend their days listening to classical music. Their halloumi? Let’s just say I’ve been known to eat the whole package myself. No judgment, please.

Now, here’s where things get sticky (literally) – Mush Slime. Before you raise your eyebrows, let me tell you about my daughter Emma’s two-year love affair with this local slime empire. We’ve spent enough on their bespoke slime to probably fund a small yacht, but the joy on her face? Priceless. If you have a sensory seeker, you know the value of a good slime.

Last but absolutely not least – Off the Gluten Path my personal heroes! 🦸♀️ As someone who can’t do gluten, finding their restaurants was like discovering a magical portal to a world where I can eat ALL THE THINGS again! Doughnuts! Cookies! Cake! wipes tear They ship nationwide, which means my gluten-free friends across South Africa can also experience the joy of biting into a doughnut that doesn’t taste like cardboard.

So there you have it – my fab five local loves that have turned me into a passionate brand evangelist. Supporting local has never tasted (or looked, or felt, or… slimed?) so good! Living my bestlife, one local brand at a time! 🌈
Who else is obsessed with these gems? Or have other local favorites I should know about? My wallet says no, but my heart says yes! 💖
