Weekly Wisdoms #53

The first week of the year done and dusted. Ok, sure, it was a short week but still. And it was the most unbothered start to the new year I think we have ever had. On the 31st Jack and I went to rock climbing, David and Emma went to bounce, then we chilled at home, made a yummy dinner – chill, calm and peaceful – perfect end to 2025 and start to 2026.

(Glimmers are micro-moments of joy that make us feel happy, hopeful, and safe.)

  • David and I played a lot of Scrabble this week. We have always enjoyed but after Cameron died it helped me cope. The calm time, just the two of us – it’s my love language.
  • We also went for a hike on the 31st. It was so good to be back in my valley.
  • I started building a new puzzle. I forget how much I enjoy.
  • I had 2 coffee dates with Eve – the first one was cut short because the coffee shop was still on holiday hours. We had a lot to catch up on.
  • Eve bought me a journal with daily prompts that started on the 1 January – I am LOVING it.
  • I made this cute little Stitch magnetic bookmark for my daily work diary.
  • We have had a few thunderstorms this week and I love it. I love how the day starts off hot and you can feel the pressure build and then it releases with a storm.
  • David got me some pjs for Christmas but they were a little too big so I switched them and Woolies was having a sale so I got nicer pair for the same price.

I have decided to change this section up and add in my favourite photo of the week. This was the view from the top of the dune of our hike at Cannon Rocks – I desperately want to be back there!

This is the first page of the journal I received. Words to live by!

I am joining up with the Word of the Week link party this week so my word for the week would have to be EASE IN. This week has been such a slow but positive start to the new year. There was no frantic rush to unpack our bags, organise the house or make lists of goals and resolutions. We just went where the days took us and it has been perfect.

Word of the Week linky

Until next week!
