Share 4 Somethings April

Gosh April felt like it flew by. April and May are our busier months, David’s events start, its Easter, Emma has karate nationals and grading and its school holidays. It feels like we just go from one event to another for 6 weeks.

Back to the Share 4 Somethings: The idea is to share something we loved, something that sustained us, something we’re carrying forward from this month to the next, and something we’re making space for each month.

Something I loved in April….not sure I can pick one thing but definitely my birthday. It was such a simple celebration – dinner at home with my father in law and then breakfast with my family and a close friend.

I got this gorgeous Lego set that goes with the Stitch I already have. Isn’t she just perfect.

I did two long hikes – both were around 10km. The one was super hard and both David and I were done afterwards. The second one was easier and I actually could have kept walking – I was listening to my book and its so good.

Something that sustained me…taking magnesium glycinate and Ashwagandha every night! I have been struggling with anxiety again and it obviously impacts my sleep *sigh*. But taking this combo does seem to help me get some decent uninterrupted sleep.

Something I am carrying forward...Definitely my walking momentum. I have entered to walk a 100km over 5 days in September so I am trying to build up my stamina by doing longer walks more regularly. I managed 2 longer walks this month and I actually enjoy the challenge.

Something I am making space for…calm. This time of year can get a little crazy, so I am tyring to actively make space for moments of calm to catch my breathe and recalibrate a little.

How was your April?

  1. Yep, I always find April and May to feel so busy too… I think I tend to just pack our calendar with so much more this time of year now that winter is over here and I’m sick of being cooped up in the house. Your walks sound lovely and I love that waterfall photo. My favorite hiking trails tend to be near water.
