Weekly Wisdoms #42

What a frustrating week this has been. David is a financial planner for aviators. Two years ago we started working together but it is a totally new industry for me and what that doesnt really come naturally for me. I have, obviously, learnt a lot over the past few years but every now and then I still get stuck. This week was one of them. I just hit one wall after another the whole week. Sure, you can say the positive is I learnt a whole bunch but not sure the anxiety was worth it.

(Glimmers are micro-moments of joy that make us feel happy, hopeful, and safe.)

  • We had such a lovely walk through a Rietvlei Nature Reserve.
  • We make keychains for Emma to sell but they werent quite 100%. So I wanted to try seal them with resin. I have never worked with resin before but that never stops me (even when it should). After getting resin everywhere, I actually managed to get it right and it comes out exactly how I wanted to.
  • My sage is flowering and it is so beautiful. Such a stunning shade of purple.
  • Possibly the biggest piece of good news this week was that I was able to fit into a pair of jeans I havent been able to wear for over a year! I tried them on by chance and the button closed, then the zip could be done up AND the best part – they were comfortable. I nearly cried. I have struggled so much with my weight and honestly felt like nothing was working but clearly IT IS – just slowly. It did also motivate me to keep doing what I am doing.
  • We visited the Rosemary Hill Spring Market on Wednesday. It was so lovely. I found my first Christmas gift which is very unusual for me, I am that last minute shopper.
  • I have been wanting to upgrade my Cricut to a bigger one that can cut a lot more materials and on Thursday I just did it. It arrives on Tuesday and I can not wait.
  • Eve and I visited Tierlantykies, another local market on Friday. It was such a great market – we both found some awesome goodies. I got a few more Christmas gifts and some cute Christmas decor.

I have decided to change this section up and add in my favourite photo of the week. Kobe doing what he does so well – naps!

I am joining up with the Word of the Week link party this week so my word for the week would have to be I AM SORRY. I know it is 3 words but I have said I am sorry so many times this week to clients. I hate it. I don’t mind getting frustrated behind the scenes but I hate when it impacts clients. It was not only at work but also a few instances personally when I was saying sorry. Argh it was just frustrating.

Word of the Week linky

Until next week!

  1. I’m sorry to hear your week has been frustrating. Some weeks, nothing seems to go right, especially when it comes to work. I hope you can get back on track next week.
I love all your outdoor photos this week. The spring market sounds lovely.
Kobe looks blissfully peaceful. If only we could nap like our dogs.
    Have a lovely weekend.

  2. Phrases are welcome for word of the week, I use them all the time. It’s sad that yours is apologetic. We all make mistakes. (I make tons, and I’ve started to stop saying I am sorry, and turning it around to thank you (for forgiving my mistake if necessary) It really helps to make me feel better. Your glimmers are great as usual and well done for fitting in your jeans. I miss jeans so much but my condition means that some materials I just can’t tolerate and denim is one of them. (It’s hard to explain but it’s like putting on something lined with cacti and it’s neurological, my nerves don’t work properly.)

  3. Yay for fitting into an old pair of jeans again! That’s great; all your hard work is definitely paying off. I was quite intimidated by resin at first but my middle son was determined to learn to use it and made some really amazing crafts using it. I bet the keychains look great.

  4. We all make mistakes, we’ve just got to learn not to be so hard on ourselves. Great news re the jeans, that’s a win. I really miss the markets, I’m jealous you can pick up such lovely gifts for Christmas. Peter and I are planning a visit next July/August. #wotw

  5. Oh no I’m sorry you’re week was frustrating.
