I love a bit of TV. Watching new movies and series was very cathartic for me in those early days of dealing with my grief. I even started making a list of shows and movies I was watching like you do on GoodReads but on a movie site. Despite my many hours of watching TV, I do tend to stick to very similar type shows.
If you are a looking some binge watching, try these 8 shows – if you haven’t already.
The Bear – This is my current favourite show. I have just finished rewatching all 4 seasons and it honestly just gets better and better. It is pretty intense and is not a background show – you have to watch it properly. Perfect if you are a feeling like a bit of a cry. I watched on Disney.
The Derry Girls – A show that will always make my list – ALWAYS! I have watched it a few times and it is funny every single time. It is also a bit nostalgic for those of us who were teens in the 90’s. I watched on Netflix.
Schitts Creek – A life without the Schitts is dull. Another one to watch if you need a good laugh and a bit of romance. I watched on Netflix
Bosch – If you like a cop show, this is a great one. It is not your usual kinda cop show and there are 7 seasons so lots to watch. It can get pretty intense and you do need to follow what is happening. There are 2 spin off shows that are equally good – Bosch:Legacy and Ballard. I watched them all on Prime.
Elementary – I was the only one in my family who enjoyed this show. It is so cleverly written and has guest appearances and mentions of other shows. If you watch the Bear listen out – both shows reference each other.
Life in Pieces – I found this show on Disney by accident and I absolutely loved it. Its sort of like Modern Family but I enjoyed it a lot more. It has some really great actors in it and is so funny.
Below Deck – All of them. This is my reality TV guilty pleasure. I love it. Its trashy and ridiculous but it is the perfect show when I need to decompress from life. I watch whatever seasons I can find on the different streaming platforms.
Harry Wild – The star of this show is Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman and she is fantastic! The seasons are short but it is a delight to watch.
What are some of your favourite TV shows to watch?

I LOVE Life in Pieces and Schitt’s Creek. We enjoy the Bear too; though my son that is in culinary school can’t watch as he says there are so many things they do “wrong” that would never happen in a kitchen (I’m not sure what they are but I do know he gave up watching it).
I get that totally. For me it was more about the relationships.
I’ve watched Harry Wild and it was pretty good. I need to go back to it. My husband loves Bosch. The books and show.
Thanks for the list!
I do a post occasionally on programmes I’ve enjoyed watching. The current one is in draft, maybe I’ll finish today. I loved Schitt’s Creek. I started watching it but thought, no this is not my kind of humour. But I started it again later and loved it all. I still remember the dance scene in the shop which made me laugh with humour and emotion, I think that’s a classic and I can’t listen to Tina Turner’s Simply the Best without thinking of it.
