Monthly Musings – Spring

I wanted to take part in the Good Better Best Life monthly musings but its spring here and my kids don’t go to school. So I came up with some similar prompts that are relevant to me.

What are your favorite spring traditions or rituals? We don’t really have any rituals but I do love how my little city comes alive during this time of year. Not only are the plants blooming but people are getting out a lot more – you can feel the energy when you go out. I LOVE IT!

How do you celebrate the changing season in your home? Again we don’t really do a whole lot but the doors are all now wide open letting in the fresh spring breeze and the smells of the blooming jasmine.

Favorite spring meals or seasonal recipes? Salads – all the salads! I love how easy it is to make meals during the warmer months and there is so much delicious produce that is now (almost) in season.

What homeschool activities or projects are you most excited about this season? We are getting Jack ready to change curriculums again but I think we have found the right fit. Emma is getting ready for exams which is exciting for her.

Do you have any spring cleaning or organizing goals for your learning spaces? I am a little bad with this – I have a pile of Jacks work on my desk, when it gets too big, I mark it and then pack it away in the Homeschool box. But now that the kids are older and so much is online, there is a lot less clutter.

When do you start planning your summer holidays or adventures? Our summer holiday was planned at the beginning of the year and I can’t wait! We will be spending 10 days in the Easter Cape.

How do you incorporate the outdoors into your homeschool routine during spring? My kids are pretty active, so they are outside a lot but we do have a pool so they can jump in whenever they feel they need to cool down.

What are you most looking forward to this season? Starting my walks earlier again – I LOVE walking first thing in the morning.

Do you decorate for spring? If so when? We don’t really. Decorating for each season or holiday isn’t really a big thing here.

What does spring feel like to you? New life! I love watching the neighbourhood come alive again.
