What Brings Me Contentment
Eve and I decided, rather quickly, to join her son and embark on a 100 day challenge. There were no rules to the challenge except to post somewhere every day for 100 days. Initially my plan was to write 100 blog posts in 100 days but then in a moment of (possibly grief) madness I decided to also post to instagram every day for 100 days.
And here we are on day 6 of 100! Eve is doing the challenge on Instagram as well, go follow her here.
I am a very typical Aries, I rush to just get started and then invariably hit a wall – because we all know how important planning is! While I do have a vague plan and loads to say, coming up with a blog post every day can be challenging. So I asked my friend Claude to come up with some prompts, just for the days when I am a little stuck.
I was browsing through the list this morning and settled on the prompt “What brings contentment?”

I love the word contentment.
Contentment: a state of happiness and satisfaction.
Contentment feels a little deeper than happiness – to me, it means, you are at peace with where you are. You are simply content – with your life, your partner, your job – whatever, you are both happy and satisfied.
What brings me contentment?
- My family.
- Early morning yoga.
- Simple weekends at home.
- Tuesday coffee with Jack.
- Writing.
- Getting creative.
- Baking.
- The lowveld.
What brings you contentment?
