Weekly Wisdoms #64

This week felt like we were back on the hamster wheel. Yesterday I was in and out of the car every hour fetching, dropping, shopping etc etc. It was exhausting but the week was a good one – one of the most positive ones we have had in a while.

(Glimmers are micro-moments of joy that make us feel happy, hopeful, and safe.

  • Emma got 2 gold medals at her karate competition and her provincial colours. She looked so confident as she was competing – its so awesome watching them grow in confidence and skill.
  • I did some backing on the weekend. I haven’t baked in ages. I had planned on just making cookies but then ended up making muffins as well.
  • My walking group didn’t walk because it rained so I went out later in the day and managed to get the 2 hours of no rain for a long solo walk.
  • I attended a yoga session on Saturday – it was a different type of yoga than I am used to but it was so good.
  • I am listening to Age Like a Girl: How Menopause Rewires Your Brain for Mental Clarity, Increased Confidence, and Renewed Energy by Dr Mindy Pelz – it is such a good book! A lot of the stuff I know but there is always so much more to learn.
  • I treated myself to a cookie while Emma had hockey – it was so good but I did feel the sugar rush for a while.
  • I bought myself some new, proper bras from Woolworths for the first time in YEARS. They were not cheap but I am tired of the cheap ones I have been buying.
  • I also got myself some hiking poles and then did a tough hike with a friend and the poles definitely do make a difference.
  • Kobe had some lumps and has been scratching a lot more recently so David took him to the vet to get checked out – thankfully everything is fine, we have some stuff for the itchiness and the lumps are nothing serious.

  1. Hi, Laura. Thank you for hosting this party. My LinkUp # is 4. I am amazed that there is Woolworths (I always said Woolsworth) still around! I am headed off to visit another link at your party.
