Weekly Wisdoms #51

Week one of holiday done and dusted and I think we have walked 500 miles! We had grand plans to go for long weeks along the beach every day. So far, 5 days in we have done that but walking on the beach is a lot harder than walking on solid ground so I am really feeling it. But it has been so good for the soul.

(Glimmers are micro-moments of joy that make us feel happy, hopeful, and safe.)

  • It is our first holiday with our dogs and while the road trip was a little stressful, I am so glad we decided to bring them. They have been having the best time.
  • The weather has been glorious. We have had one rainy day but it was the perfect opportunity to have a down day.
  • They had Rummy-O in the house we are staying in. We have never played it before but its now a firm favourite.
  • I found a 7km hike for us to do through part of the Addo Elephant conservancy. It was such a stunning walk – it goes through the forest and then along the beach.
  • I have most of the Christmas gifts wrapped but ran out of paper but it feels like the first time in a while that I am so organised.
  • Being away with older kids is so much easier and there are just the 2 at home now which also makes it easier.

I have decided to change this section up and add in my favourite photo of the week. This was taken on our hike – the views were absolutely stunning!!

This is the first page of the journal I received. Isn’t it just lovely.

I am joining up with the Word of the Week link party this week so my word for the week would have to be HOLIDAY. This week we have been embracing our holiday in every way – beach days, walks, board games, naps and slow, lazy days.

Word of the Week linky

Until next week!
