Word of the Week – Birthday

It was my 48th birthday on Thursday. It feels so weird saying that because it is 2 years from 50 and I most definitely do not feel like I am that close to 50! I mean I still don’t make my bed if I don’t have to and we often run out of toilet paper!

It was a very low-key birthday which is just want I wanted.

David and the kids kept asking me what I wanted but honestly there was nothing that I really wanted or needed so I left it up to them.

And they did such a great job.

I got this cute fried for Stitch – I can’t wait to build her.

Kiara made me these family Uno cards and I am so in love with them.

Emma picked out this stunning pink le Creuset mug to add to my collection.

And Jack got me colored fineliners.

David and I went for a walk in the morning and then went for a cup of coffee and then it was driving kids up and down but then we had dinner with my father-in-law!

Simple but perfect.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL week!

  1. Happy birthday! It sounds like you had a lovely time, and the family chose excellent gifts for you.
I turn 50 towards the end of next year, and I’m wondering how it happened so fast. I’m still in awe that I’m responsible for other humans! I keep waiting to feel like a grown-up.

  2. Belated happy birthday. I love that you had such lovely thoughtful gifts. Life does move fast, I was terrified of reaching fifty, but it’s just a number.
